WELCOMING MESSAGE

  We welcome you to the Appropriate Technologies International Conference hosted by Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning. The conference is sponsored by the Global Technology Sharing Center and jointly supervised by the Academic Society for Appropriate Technology and Seoul National University International IT Policy Program under the official title academic Society for Appropriate Technology-GSDV Joint International Symposium.

  The subject of the 2016 conference will be appropriate technologies with ICT. All nations around the globe including Korea strive to achieve sustainable growth. To that end, we wish to observe cases of appropriate technologies benefiting developing countries through this conference, as well as welcoming appropriate technology groups in order to invigorate domestic communities and encourage social innovations. The conference is scheduled to last three days, and there will be sessions regarding appropriate technologies with ICT for international social innovations and global challenges, medical appropriate technology, technology for creative value generation, appropriate technology for the environment, education and appropriate technology, and appropriate technology combined with science and arts.

  We believe the conference will truly be an opportunity to demonstrate that appropriate technology is beyond a simple technology. You will be able to observe concrete cases of appropriate technology changing our societies, and we would greatly appreciate your participation.
